FAQ About Celebrant Ceremonies

Below are the answers to some of the most asked questions about celebrant ceromonies. If there’s anything else you want to know, please get in touch.

What are your payment terms?

An invoice will be included with the information pack that will be sent to you once I have confirmation by email that you intend to use my services.

A deposit of $250 and a signed agreement is required to finalise a booking.

The Terms and Conditions will be provided within this pack that states when the remaining balance is due, however this will normally be two (2) weeks prior to the date of the event, except for funerals, when it will be the day prior.  If you have any questions regarding payment, please contact me.

Do you offer refunds?

If final payment is not received by the specified date, all avenues of communication will be used to ensure payment is made promptly.  Cancellation of the agreement will only occur if these requests, do not receive a response.

A refund of the final amount will only be given if the circumstances are deemed exceptional.

Do you have Public Liability Insurance?

Yes, all celebrants must have Public Liability Insurance.

Do you travel outside of Canberra for conduct ceremonies?

Yes, although there may be an additional charge depending on distance.

How far in advance should I book with you?

For weddings, I need at least a month's notice to ensure documents are completed within legislative timeframes. Funerals and other occasions don't have these legal requirements, so bookings can be done without the same notice. However, to ensure that I create the event that you wish, at least three or four days from the time of meeting to the event is preferred.

Do you marry LGBTQIA+ couples?

Yes, I would love to be part of your special day regardless of  sex, religion or ethnicity.

Can you incorporate cultural traditions into our ceremony?

Yes, with your help and guidance I am happy to include any tradition that is important to you.

Are we able to have a themed occasion?

It's your day so do it your way. I'm happy to participate with most ideas and I love a dress up.

Can we change the date of our ceremony?

Yes, as long as it still meets legislative deadlines.

Do you conduct pet funerals?

Pets are an important part of every family and I would be privileged to give your furry child the send off they deserve.

Are you qualified to be a celebrant?

I am a registered marriage celebrant. I have a certificate IV in celebrancy and training in funeral celebrancy.

Do you conduct naming ceremonies for single parents or same-sex couples?

Yes, the addition of a child to a family is an important life event to be celebrated regardless of the family dynamics or how the child came into the family.

Do you bring your own PA system?

Yes, I will provide the PA system for the ceremony and ensure that it is in perfect working order.
